  Jobsite Exposure to Asbestos

Thousands of industries at numerous jobsites across the country utilized asbestos or asbestos containing products. Asbestos mines, mills and factories may be the obvious jobsites with high levels of asbestos exposure that come to mind. However, there are many other jobsites where workers utilized asbestos in their day to day tasks such as, US Navy bases and ships, shipyards, power plants, refineries, foundries and construction sites. And even less obvious asbestos or asbestos containing products were used in many hospitals, schools, farms, laboratories, jewelers, and food processing plants.

Workers who worked at a jobsite that contained asbestos and the people they came in contact with are at risk of occupational exposure, bystander exposure or household exposure to asbestos and may be at risk of developing mesothelioma.
